Philosophy

IST is managed under the philosophy that there are four key pillars necessary to delivering the premium services we’ve become known for and meeting the critical demands of quality, cost and schedule requirements. These pillars are:

  • People
  • Processes
  • Technology
  • Organizational structure

Human capital is our most important asset
At IST, we believe our most important asset is our people. Our reputation has been built on providing high quality employees to our clients. Every employee has a clear, defined role that adds value for our customer. The key to maintaining our strong employee base is recruiting experienced people and continually refining their skills and knowledge. Our recruiting requirements are stringent, and our expectations are even higher.

Processes that work
The maturity of any organization is defined by its processes. IST has leveraged the experience of our staff to develop repeatable, yet flexible processes. We recognize that every client engagement is different, and there is no “cookie-cutter” approach that guarantees success. Our methodologies provide a consistent foundation while our team’s experience allows it to adapt to the unique requirements of each engagement.

IST has begun assessing two methodologies for maturity based upon industry accepted best practices. They are:

  • Organizational Project Management Maturity Model (OPM3) – Developed by the Project Management Institute (PMI), the OMP3 is designed to assess the maturity of an organization’s project and portfolio management methodologies
  • Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) – Developed by the Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie-Melon (SEI), the CMMI was designed to address the level of control and planning of software development projects.

After completing the assessment of our methodologies against these models, IST will be implementing process improvement efforts to ensure we continually mature as an organization.

Technology that meets and exceeds your needs
As an IT services company, IST makes sure our clients are using the right technology for their business – not necessarily the most cutting edge – to meet their business objectives. We practice the same technical scrutiny in our own operations. By conducting our own technology testing and analysis, we’re better prepared to work with our clients in virtually any information technology environment.

An organizational structure designed for success
IST has developed an organizational structure to properly meet our clients’ needs, while managing our internal operations in an efficient manner.
